“I use everything, everything! Timber is a valuable resource that’s too expensive to throw in the bin. That’s how I look at everything in my business.”
Bevan, Timber Dimensions
Turning timber into unique, useful products
Bevan has a passion for sustainability and it’s clear he loves making beautiful, practical things. As he proudly states, his homewares, furniture and giftware products are “made with love and integrity”.
Sharing a passion for sustainability
Bevan presented his approach to sustainability at a workshop in December 2024 where members of Redcliffe Sustainable Business Network told their stories. He showed how timber offcuts could be reused or made into other products, and discussed other actions he takes. Watch the video for insights…
Timber Dimensions’ sustainability initiatives
- Upcycling timber off-cuts: left over scrap timber pieces are turned into other products
- Recycling woodchip: it goes to someone who uses it for composting, worm farms and soil nutrients
- Using sustainably sourced materials: buying timber from sustainable sources, and being creative with recycled or repurposed materials
- Building products to last: quality construction, so products last for generations rather than being thrown away
- Supporting people: creating products that make life easier
- Reducing energy use: solar panels, LED lighting
- Avoiding waste: respecting the inherent value of raw materials by using or repurposing everything!
“I despise waste and like to make items from materials that would otherwise end up in landfill. Otherwise I use sustainably sourced materials. Sometimes I use materials not traditionally used in furniture construction to create items with a unique feel.”
Bevan, Timber Dimensions

Sustainable products are in demand: “I’ve sent hundreds of packets of chopsticks to Singapore!“
Products made to last
As Bevan says, he hates waste! His philosophy extends beyond simply saving money – sustainability is core to his business. He wants his products to last, not just so they stay out of landfill, but so they keep providing a useful purpose that enhances people’s lives.
“I want my pieces to last generations, so I build with that in mind.”

Quality craftsmanship: Timber Dimensions’ furniture is not just beautiful and practical, it’s built to last.
