How to earn this badge

If you do five or more of the items listed below, you will earn an Energy Badge. To help achieve these actions, see tips about hot water systems, energy efficiency, air conditioning, green power and other Green Tips.

  1. All of our power is sourced from renewable energy
  2. We generate enough renewable energy to feed into the grid or to other users
  3. We invest in shares in a renewable energy company
  4. We have a solar hot water system
  5. We have solar power panels generating at least 3kWh
  6. We unplug most appliances at the wall overnight and when not in use over long periods
  7. All light fittings are low energy
  8. We switch off computer monitors when they are not in use
  9. Our house is designed to maximise the use of daylight and fresh air
