UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Level
- Level 1
- Overview
The United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent an urgent call for action by all. The goals act as "a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future". They are not just aspirational aims, they are achievable realities if everyone works towards them.
Each of the Green Street Badges relates to one or more SDGs, so by achieving the badges as a household or workplace/business you can contribute to the UN's vision.
- Purpose
The goals act as a starting point for discussion, as well as targets to aim for. For each goal, the UN provides facts and figures about why it matters, specific targets to achieve, and links to related initiatives and resources.
Read about the goals and think about how each one relates to your life, household, business or workplace. Consider what needs to change to work towards those goals. What practical measures could you be planning or taking right now as an individual or an organisation?
- Who it’s for

“The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.” United Nations
