Use a green energy provider
Instead of buying coal-fired power from the standard electricity grid, sign up for ‘green power’. This means the power is generated by renewable resources such as the wind, sun and biomass (which means organic matter, such as plants).
In Australia, GreenPower independently audits electricity providers to make sure the right amount of renewable energy is fed into the grid on the customers’ behalf. You can, of course, consider installing your own green power source, such as solar panels.
Save up to 2 tonnes of carbon for a medium-sized household or a small to medium-sized business.
