Rooftop solar panels

2022 marks the 10^th year of the Samford Solar Neighbourhood scheme. This initiative was run voluntarily by the Pine Rivers Climate Action Network and Samford Green Street. It involved bulk-buying solar panels for over 200 households who engaged in the program and now have renewable energy sources on their rooftops.

The Samford initiative was the fourth-highest take-up of solar installations in Australia. It has achieved thousands of tonnes of reduction in carbon emissions, not to mention financial savings of over $1 million for participants through a very generous tariff available at the time.
