Bread tags, wheelchairs and sustainable business at The Leisa Tree
Did you know that you can take your plastic bread tags to The Leisa Tree (in Samford, near Brisbane) for recycling? Leisa Nilon, the owner of Leisa Tree, has a collection point in her beautiful shop. She then sends them off to Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs who recycle them, raising funds to buy wheelchairs for disadvantaged people in South Africa. What an awesome initiative!
The Leisa Tree sells only ethically produced gifts, clothing, and other goods. On top of that, the shelving and other shop furniture are constructed out of recycled timbers and the place has a wonderfully natural feel about it.
You can rest assured that whatever you buy from The Leisa Tree is very climate conscious and contributes to the collective presence of other businesses in Samford that are part of the Samford Sustainable Business Network.
