Bliss Ecowear -  Calculating the Green St Score was even harder this time.  We've actually doubled (eek!) our electricity usage due to relying on the air con over summer but, as we're with a 'green' energy provider, our GHG emissions are shown as 0.  Although it does help to be signed up to green energy, I still feel like we're cheating when the bill reckons we've produced 0 tonnes of GHG.

Although it's not on the Pledge Sheet, I've pledged to give the air con a good service before we start using it again (the recent change to slightly cooler weather has allowed us to go back to just the ceiling fans).  I substituted "by energy efficient appliances" as a similar pledge.

NACC Sustainability-People - Hi Kellie .... It will be great to see your most recent GSS as a final take for the Cluster program. Also, I'd like to talk about the support we offerred for a remake of your Green Precinct flyer or other need you may have in the group. Cheers, Howard

Bliss Ecowear -  Woohoo.  Two new changes for us that I thought may be out of our reach.

1) Our landlord has put in two ceiling fans so we can use them before relying on the air con.

 2) We've got a new business starting behind us (Nest Nappies - selling reusable nappies) and we're going to work together to set up a herb garden and worm farm in their courtyard.  I compost at home but it's been tricky to compost here at work (aside from taking the scraps home with me at night, which is possible but fiddly).

Two more things to help us reduce our carbon footprint that I didn't think were especially in my control and therefore I wasn't working towards it.

NACC Sustainability-People - Hi Kellie ... hope the week went well. Are you able to do the survey in the next couple of days, to get your Green Street Score for August? Cheers, Howard

NACC Sustainability-People - Hi Kellie.... you've really got a vibrant profile on Green Street... setting the pace I think :-) Can you do your GSS survey for July so that we have your current data to start with. Loved your stall out at Hillbrook Sustainability Day by the way. Cheers, Howard

Bliss Ecowear -

Dresses from Bird Textiles - organic cotton, water-based dyes, solar-powered factory, local production, carbon offset.  We say that it's possible to combine style and sustainability.  Being green doesn't mean having to wear hair shirts (but, hey, if that's your scene, we support you).

As a member of the Green Precinct in Paddington, Bliss Ecowear is proud to extend that to being a member of the Paddington Sustainable Business Cluster.  Although so much of our business is 'green', through the cluster, we're attempting to become even darker green.  I'm especially keen to see how the whole Paddington cluster goes.
