Four Seasons Organics - Thank you to all our existing customers for supporting our business and helping us with our sustainable practices!

Many of our loyal customers always bring their own green bags or re-use plastic bags we have provided, bring back egg cartons they have used and are always happy to have their shopping packed into a cardboard box! It definitely makes our job of being environmentally friendly much easier!

Four Seasons Organics -  Being part of Samford’s village community is very important to us and is something very special!  We aim to maintain the highest “green” standard possible by developing and focusing on sustainable practices that we undertake in order to preserve the village’s vibrant and quaint character!

Some of the sustainable practices that are part of our day-to-day business include:

    -       Switching to Energy Australia with a Green Power 50 option where 50% of electricity comes from renewable resources!

    -       Monitoring and lowering our gas emissions

o   Our business’s emissions have fallen by more than half

    -       Educating and involving all our employees in the recycling process

    -       Proper separation of all recyclable goods

    -       Recycling all the boxes!

o   We receive hundreds of cardboard, waxed cardboard and polystyrene boxes every week.  Some of the boxes we return to the suppliers for re-use and the remaining cardboard boxes are supplied to a specific company which uses the materials to create new ones

    -       Green wastage is a big part of the business.

o   All vegetable and fruit scraps are either given to customers as chicken food or to 2 worm farms which belong Ania! So the animals are always happy and nothing goes to waste!

    -       Purchase of a water tank to collect rain water

    -       Purchase of two new freezers and air conditioners which consume 1/3 of the energy that was previously being used

    -       Using environmentally friendly Organic cleaning products

    -       Any water that we save during the day from containers or from washing dishes is used to water the plants outside… again no water goes to waste!

    -       Biodegradable plastic bags are used

    -       Customers are used to returning used plastic bags and egg cartons

    -       Using email instead of the fax machine to send and receive orders
